God that Supra is beautiful. The FB never looked good, not in the 80s and not today.

Mk3 all day, every day. Even with the when-not-if head gasket issue. Consider it expensive recommended maintenance.
Although change it to an FC RX-7 and we can have a conversation.

When I get mine I’m 2JZ-GTE and R154 swapping it so that shouldn’t be a problem.

As a Datsun fan boy, Mk 3 Supra!
I think you’d have more Smiles per Mile. The Z31 is a tough motor to work on. It has approximately 4, 318 miles of vacuum hoses.
Plus GTE straight six, straight sixes sounds amazing.

The RX-7.
It’s a more involving experience than the other two and looks fantastic.

My best friend at the age 16's 1st car was a turbo 1990 mk3. I’ve loved them ever since and don’t know how we didn’t crash it.

Stock or mild, the Supra. The one persistent issue, the head gasket, is solved by retorquing the head bolts to an improved spec. Otherwise the M engines are pretty indestructible.
If you’re going to rip out the driveline, the RX-7 has the better chassis, and V8 swap kits are plentiful and cheap. To drive an FB with the rotary usually only makes sense if you really love rotaries.
The 300zx is likely the cheapest of the three (though there are probably plenty of non-running FBs), but I wouldn’t buy a Z-car with a V6.

This. My uncle has a Z31 and originally planned to just build the engine but decided it was too much and swapped in the motor from his totaled Z32 twin turbo. Now that he managed to blow the engine, he’s planning to LS swap it and give it to his son, aka my cousin. To race him,I’m getting a Mk3 Supra and 2JZ-GTE/R154 swapping it.

I’m actually getting a Mk3 Supra and 2JZ-GTE/R154 swapping it. I was thinking about the LS/FB swap but it’s too similar to my cousin’s LS swapped Z31 that I plan on racing.

I beg to differ. Mk3 Supras have better handling and are a blast to drive. That, and I think they’re better looking than the FBs. But I respect different opinions from time to time.

Gotcha. Nothing wrong with the Supra, but it’s the heaviest by far of the three.

Yeah. When I do the swap I also gotta strip out unnecessary stuff, like the radio. If I want music, I’ll bring my Harman Kardon and connect my phone to it and blast from Spotify

In Japan, yeah. The USDM ones still had the 7M.

Nope, the 1JZ was never sold here in any form. Although in your defense, there were only like 9 90-92 Supra Turbos sold in the US.

Tough choices. I love the SA and the Mark III so very much. (I grew up liking the Z31, but my desire for one has waned with age.) Can I have both? Mark III for a DD, and the SA for weekending/twisty-roading.

The Mk3 is actually perfect for both. Reliable, good looking, is fast and has better handling than the other cars. I’m gonna buy one when I get money/ a job/ a life lol

I have a friend who’s got a Mk3 Supra and it looks fantastic, so you’re not wrong.
I still prefer the RX-7 though. It’s harder to live with, but more rewarding imo. After all, it’s technically still based on the RX-7 that started it all.

I’ve already got an FB so let’s go with the MkIII Supra - it’s one of my favorites for sure.
